Work Life Balance and Family Harmony

Jenn’s Fidium Home

Jenn is a working mom in Mankato, Minnesota. She loves the flexibility of her hybrid work life, but it wasn’t always easy.

“Prior to having Fidium, my experience with video was suspect at best,” Jenn said. “There would be times when I would hope and pray that I would stay connected throughout the call. It was embarrassing, it was frustrating. There were times I was right in the middle of bringing forward a work initiative, and my connection would drop, I’d be gone. Or I’d freeze.

People are sending notes to let me know I’m frozen, and there’s really nothing you can do.”

That stress and potential for embarrassment are in her rear-view mirror since Jenn’s family signed up for Fidium.

“Since getting fiber internet, I’ve had the experience of seamless operations between work and home,” Jenn shared. “I love the fact that I can go from one location to the other with no issues. My connection is solid, reliable and fast.”

Jenn loves the strong work/life balance that comes with her fiber connection. “It’s so important. I can be the best mom I can be and at the same time the best employee I can be,” she said.

Jenn’s 6th grade son, Parker, has entered those crucial middle school years, with all new academic challenges. The good news, Parker has no problem completing his online assignments from home, no matter who else is online. And Jenn loves that she can reward his hard work with some online gaming time when the homework is done.

Fiber has also helped Jenn’s family enjoy greater harmony, whether it’s just the three of them, or the entire extended family.

“Last year we hosted Thanksgiving, we had 28 people here for the holiday,” Jenn remembers. When the meal was done, everyone could hang out without any connectivity issues. “The kids all grabbed their devices and were on YouTube or playing video games. All the women in the family were downstairs streaming a Hallmark movie, and all the men were in the theater room watching the game. All 28 people having a great time, and we didn’t even have to think about it.”

That might be the best part for Jenn, “it’s just one less stress that I don’t have to worry about.”
