Lisbon Celebrates New Gig Town Status
Gig Town Celebration kicks-off 2024 Concert in the Park event
LISBON, Maine — July 18, 2024 — Community members and local leaders celebrated Lisbon’s new status as a Gig Town during the first Concert in the Park of 2024, on July 21.
Gig Town designations are presented to communities with broad access to multi-gigabit fiber internet for residents and businesses, which connects communities to wide ranging benefits - economic, educational, employment, entertainment and more - that accompany better internet access.
The celebration will included remarks by Len Lednum, President of Discover Lisbon, and Sarah Davis, Vice President of Market Development for Consolidated Communications. Following the certificate presentation and ribbon cutting, the entire community was on hand, to enjoy local favorite band, Hello Newman. Fidium representatives were on hand to share more about the life-changing power of fiber internet.
